The abundance of tracks and trails available within Jasper townsite means that you don’t have to venture far to enjoy the wilderness that the Rockies have to offer. The Valley of the Five Lakes trail is minutes from the town centre and offers a 4.5km loop that takes you around five unique and dazzling lakes.

Parks Canada rate the trail a moderate difficulty with an elevation gain/loss of 66m. The trailhead begins at the carpark and takes around 2 hours to complete.

Visiting the Valley of the Five Lakes on a beautiful sunny day allows you to see the clear lakes with its unique shades of turquoise and blue reproduce a stunning mirror reflection.

With the loop circuit, you can opt to hike it clockwise or anticlockwise. Be sure to stop and relax on the signature Red Chairs which they strategically placed overlooking the third lake.
