The Givenchy Mini Antigona. It needs no introduction. A bag that haunted me on Instagram, fashion blogs and Net-a-Porter and I finally pulled the trigger after a little (but not necessary) convincing by the Givenchy store clerk in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
The mini size measures 22 x 20 x 13 cm and the version I purchased is made from goatskin leather in oxblood with silver-tone hardware. The inside is lined by tan canvas with two interior pockets on one side and a zip pocket on the other side. It has two sturdy top handle with a drop of 9cm making it slightly too small to carry over your shoulder via the handles.
I initially wanted to purchase the small size rather than mini because I preferred the ratio between the width and height making it more rectangular rather than a square. However, I ended up with the mini because of the shoulder strap (min 102cm; max 111cm). The shorter strap in the small makes it rather complicated to wear off the shoulder as it is intended to be held by the handle.
I was initially torn between this oxblood and a beautiful mustard yellow, but I ended up with a darker colour because of possible colour transfer from my clothing but I’m glad that I chose this colour. It’s a versatile hue which matches well with my wardrobe and skin tone. I can also see this colour lasting several seasons!
