Photos: Siem Reap, Cambodia

After taking a six hour bus ride from Phnom Penh, we finally reached Siem Reap, the city that I have been looking forward to for the past six months. Why? The city of Angkor.

Waking up at 4:30AM to see the sunrise, we took a 20 minute drive from our hotel to the breathtaking Angkor Wat. Despite having several other tourists around, the size of the temple meant that there was plenty of space for all of us. Throughout the two days, our local guide took us inside Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, Ta Prohm (aka Jungle Temple/Tomb Raider Temple) and Prenh Khan. The intricate details, size and construction of the temples is astonishing and it was everything and more than what I had expected. Here are a few teaser photos, more to come in a later post!

Our last day in Siem Reap ended with a fun quad bike activity in the Province where we drove by the rice paddy fields and I came across a huge herd of cows! Such an fascinating site as they travelled pass me, being inches away.

And of course, drinks at their famous Pub Street to end our Cambodian adventure.

My experience at Siem Reap was truely amazing. The temples are something that everyone should see once, it was a mesmerising sight. I can't wait to share more photos with you all!
