The seven hour flight to Dubai flew by quickly and we arrived at our stunning hotel, the Le Meridian Mina Seyahi Beach Resort, by 2AM. Sleep came easy and we didn’t wake up till noon. We were foolish enough to head out to the beach for lunch and cocktails on the loungers, and we were overwhelmed by the intense heat from the Dubai sun. I even tried taking a dip, but it felt more like a bath, so we retreated back to the pool which had a more cooling water temperature and relaxed.
Our Dubai fun continued with a desert safari with Arabian Adventures, which I highly recommend. This company is part of the Emirates Group and is the official safari operator in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, the location for our Safari. We were picked up from our hotel by our friendly driver and guide, and we made our way to the reserve. The price of the safari included a falcon show, dune bashing, buffet dinner with unlimited beverages including wine and beer, sheesha, camel rides, henna, star gazing and a belly dancing show. Great value for money!
Despite being overwhelmed by the heat, our first day in Dubai went exceptionally well and throughout the day, we had flawless and attentive service. Looking at the endless desert was the highlight of my day and we even experienced a small sand storm (luckily we will inside the car). Such a surreal adventure!
