Day Nine & Ten: Ibiza, Spain

We arrived at the next destination of our Topdeck Spanish Fiesta tour via a midnight ferry at San Antonio, Ibiza where we spent the next two days. The state of our hotel was less than desired but its central location meant that we were close to the beach, bus stops, stores and restaurants. We enjoyed our first day at the beach and rented a sun lounger so we can soak up the sun.

We had tickets for a party at Ushuaia (F*** Me I’m Famous featuring David and Cathy Guetta) and spent the early afternoon and the rest of the night dancing at the outdoor club. It was a great night if you don’t think about the prices of drinks (€15 vodka and coke, €14 beer and €18 vodka red bull). An expensive but enjoyable night.

The next day, we took part in the Ibiza Boat Party with the Spanish travellers where for six hours, we enjoyed the open bar and jet skis while a gorgeous DJ spinning the decks. We finished our night off with a party at Es Paradis in San Antonio where at 4AM, they flood the club’s dance floor with water. The music at the club was not the greatest, yet it was a great party and an interesting and unique experience.

Although we had a good time in Ibiza, it is unlikely that I will come back. I’m normally not a huge fan of clubbing and I must say, entrance to clubs and drinks are rather expensive if you’re on a tight budget. Tickets to parties can range from €30-70 and the big clubs are scattered throughout the big island where you either have to take a bus or taxi. We did not have enough time to explore some of the beauty that Ibiza has to offer, but in my opinion, if you wish to visit a party island, I would recommend Mykonos as it’s cleaner with great accommodation options for people who wish to enjoy a lovely well-rounded experience.
