review: Alexander McQueen ‘God Save McQueen’ Scarf

i made the most of the international net-a-porter sale that is currently on-going, and finally purchased the scarf that i have eyeing for a while. a good scarf (especially an Alexander McQueen one) can really be worth the money and is a good investment as it can be teamed with multiple outfits and styles. initially, i had wanted to get his signature skull print but the vibrant floral union jack motif on this scarf just stole my heart.

this god save McQueen scarf is a blend of silk and chiffon and is a larger size (79″x54″) compared to the usual McQueen scarves. i personally like the larger dimension as it’s more material to work with, and honesty, it’s more for your dollar. the blend of silk and chiffon is very soft and luxurious and i adore the sheer multicolour look. the larger size allows me to work the scarf in different ways and hence very versatile.  i could wrap it around my neck several times or i can drape it around my shoulder in order to show off the motif. here i have just teamed it up casually with jeans and a black singlet.

unfortunately, this scarf is sold out on net-a-porter. i managed to purchase this on the first day of sale and i was pretty lucky as it was sold out the next day. however, there are still many different designers and styles available, so be sure to check it out. otherwise, check out the Alexander McQueen section on net-a-porter and see what steals your heart.
